UNITED DJS OF BETHLEHEM.

All of the United DJs Of Benetton collective will be apearing together tomorrow for the very first time at stop scratching's eczemas party at the Lock Tavern. We will be on from 12.30am until 2.00am with myself, Ollie, Ed & Dom all going back to back to bring you some deep bass, liquid beats, glitchy electronics and big old helping of the kind of cheese that you can only get away with eating at christmas (stilton?). So come down and show us some support, it's free entry for all and i'm told they'll be plenty of christmas give aways too.
Merry Christmas.

"%^".
2562 sounds like the Flying Lotus if the dude behind it was Ohio serial madman Chalres Manson and not Californian super producer Steven Ellison. SUPER heavy beats, shrill electronics, submerging bass. This has to be one of the best dubstep records of the year?

NOSTALGIA.

You are a famous scientist, politician or musician about to be stranded on a desert Island. You are permitted to choose eight records, an inanimate luxury item and a book. Kirsty Young is the current presenter of the record breaking long running show Desert Island Discs on radio 4 who invites her guests to give their choices to these questions.
Each guest will explain the story behind each record they choose creating a bitesize musical autobiography. Previous guests have included Stephen Hawking, Jonny Cash, John Peel and John Malcovich to name a few.
This show, which is aired every Sunday Morning, has become somewhat of a ritual for me providing a mini escape every week.
The guest this week was Glastonbury festival’s Michael Eavis and the show is repeated on Friday morning at 9:00 am. If you are interested, the episode with Ricky Gervais is available to listen here.

SUNDAY, BLOODY SUNDAY.
Well, if your Sunday is going anything like mine you're still full from the huge fry-up, can't quite stomach a roast dinner yet, you're still feeling pretty groggy from Friday night, let alone last night & you've got to wait over an hour until Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi. Sucks.Well, what else better to pass the time then a Radio 1 Essential Mix by the hip Californian producer Steven Ellison a.k.a Flying Lotus. The track list is huge, with the likes of of the awesome Zomby, Rustie and Kode9, some Deadelus, and even some Portishead and of course, lots of FlyLo, including some awesome remixes by the man himself. 2 hours of trippy, spaced out beats, wonky bass lines, glitchy electronics and computer samples of FlyLo ripping on British accents, perfect Sunday afternoon listening if you ask me. If only Pete Tong would shut the hell up, we'd all be able to enjoy it that much more.
Anyway, far to much abuse this weekend for me to write anything remotely interesting or relevant, so just go listen.
Flying Lotus - Essential Mix: Radio 1 (29th Nov. '08)
It's only up for 6 days but if you like what you hear, excited Internet nerds have already recorded it, go download the whole thing here.
See comments for tracklisting.
